Fees for Service of Process
Pursuant to Act Number 11 of the First Extraordinary Session of the 2000 Louisiana Legislature effective July 1, 2000 all Sheriff docket fees in the various parishes of the State of Louisiana are set at the following rates:

* In addition to the charge for service of process, sheriffs are entitled under law to be reimbursed for mileage expenses when serving process. This expense is billed after the service when the actual mileage can be determined..
Deposits
- $1,500.00 * deposit towards costs and fees is required in all cases involving writs of sequestration..
- $1,200.00 * deposit towards costs and fees is required in all real estate foreclosures.
- $500.00 * deposit is required in all movable foreclosures and evictions.
** Additional deposits or security will be required where increased costs involved in eviction, storage, insurance, and other expenses are anticipated . The amounts involved will be determined on a case by case basis.
Commissions
Sheriffs' commissions for sales of movables are set at 6% of the sale price. Sheriffs commissions for sales of immovable property is set at 3% of the sale price.
